Sisyphus (dagga boy)

Cement/dagga mixing board and sash window box frame

Sisyphus was the mythical Greek king punished in Tartarus by being cursed to roll a huge boulder up a hill, only to watch it roll back down, and to repeat this throughout eternity. This piece is a commentary on the similarity between the punishment of Sisyphus and the thousands of labourers who are doomed to back breaking labour to build luxurious homes but with no hope of ever living in one but rather returning every night to a shack in the township.
